The Irresistible Trend: TOPCon Solar module will take over Brazil DG market

On March 1-2, the 17th SOUTHEAST DG FORUM was successfully held in Victoria, Brazil. Hanersun was invited to discuss the hot topics of Brazilian distributed generation solar policies and technology trends with the representatives of solar enterprises and industry experts.

The Irresistible Trend: TOPCon Solar module will take over Brazil DG market

More than 1,000 participants from various countries and regions were drawn to the forum, including entrepreneurs, experts, investors, EPC, and other related parties. In order to introduce the trends of solar module technology, Vicky Shao, the LATAM Sales Director of Hanersun, gave a keynote speech entitled “What technology & Practice will dominate the Brazilian DG market?”.
Mrs. Shao stated that the n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPcon) technology had first reached the primary conditions for technology iteration. Its price is expected to be on par with PERC products by the end of this year, with the overall power of large format modules increasing by 10-20W.

Foreseeing this trend, Hanersun released the first module series of TOPCon technology, HITOUCH 5N, in the middle of last year, which is suitable for various application scenarios such as industrial, commercial, and households, particularly fit for distributed generation projects in Brazil. On this basis, Hanersun launched another new module series, HITOUCH 6N, in January this year, which combines TOPCon technology with 210 large formats and additionally adopts MBB+ and a high-density encapsulation, making the module power up to 695W. As the best performer of technology iteration and cost-effectiveness, the advantages of TOPCon cell are apparent. In the future, Hanersun will continue developing N-Type technology and striving to meet Brazilian customers’ solar demands.

Due to global climate change, Brazil suffers from frequent droughts. The country used to rely heavily on hydropower, resulting in frequent energy supply shortage, which made the government strongly support solar projects. According to the latest data from Aneel, Brazil’s installed solar capacity has exceeded 25GW, equivalent to 11.6% of the country’s electricity mix. The DG sector, as the primary driver of solar development in Brazil, has been prevalent in recent years. Hanersun has been making efforts in the local market for years, and doubled the shipments to Latin America last year.

Hanersun’s success in the Brazilian market is due to its persistence in customer value. At the same time, its continuous improvement of product quality and reliability has won the trust and recognition of local customers. In the future, Hanersun will continue to bring more high efficiency and high quality products to Brazilian and global customers
